2009 malibu - the drivers seat belt warning chimes and the light illuminates while driving, (yes the belt is connected). It continually comes on and cycles about every 3-5 minutes. I can disconnect the belt and the chime and light will not come on. It just contines to cycle thru the warning process every 3-5 minutes reguardless if the belt is connected or not.

This car is still under warrenty but if it was simple, id rather do it myself and not mess with the dealer.

Any ideas??

I agree with MalibuMom.

Sadly, if you perform a repair and it causes (or can be blamed for causing) damage to any component, they can refuse to cover it because it is now your fault, not theirs. While it's under warranty let them spend the time and money, and keep you covered.

Agree with everyone else. I would rather be inconvenienced by taking the car to the dealership than spending money to fix it myself.
