Hey guys, I have an 08 LS and it does not come with colormatched side mirrors. I want to paint them to match my car and was wondering if someone can tell me wether or not I can remove the case without taking off the whole side mirror. Can it just pop off? Is it held on by clips? I dont want to break anything thank youu

hmmm looks like theres about 5 clips that it snaps onto the housing with. Thank you schreechy! hopefully Daily can chime in here since he did the how-to

It looks similar to the G6 ones that I changed on my fiance's car. I believe you can get a thin screwdriver past the mirror to pus out the clips if you are careful enough, or you can pop the glass part out and have easier access, but it is sometimes difficult to re-install the glass. Following the steps in the other thread though for removing the glass may make it easier than what I did (pulled it off with my hands)

Without removing the mirror from the car you can rotate the mirror to the full outboard position (left side move full left, right move full right), then using the How-To steps, release the glass to access the cavity. Once you do one you'll get it easy! Then like jimmyfloyd says you can possibly see the snap parts for the covers.
