I was hoping the forum members could help me with a few things...

-the new Malibu we purchased last month does not come with the manual backglass shade that comes as part of the Rear Power Package equipment. Would ya'll know if there is any way to install the shade after the fact?

-got my OnStar diagnostic report today. They are unable to report any diagnostic information due to "a possible aftermarket device plugged into the diagnostic port." That aftermarket device is the MyRate device we agreed to plug in to save a few bucks on our car insurance. I'm gonna call OnStar tomorrow and explain the situation. Does anyone else have something like this going on and how did you get around it?

-when I bought the car, we bought it as part of the Chevy Open House sale event. The car (an '08 LTZ) had a clearance tag on it but was missing the standard Monroney Label. I asked for it from the dealer when we bought it, and they said they had gotten the car from another dealer without the window label but would try to track it down and mail it to me. A month has passed, no Monroney Label. Would anyone know if there is another way to get the label? Who is responsible for that, Chevy/GM or the federal government (I know federal law mandates the labeling of new cars)?

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

How much difference in monies are you talking about using My Rate? I never heard of it. They must be able to monitor and record ALL of your driving. Is that what its all about?

There is a similar program offered through the GMAC auto insurance plan that uses the cars OnStar system to record that information directly. I wonder if the Myrate program could be adapted to use the OnStar system as well.
