I'm looking to take my 09 Malibu in and get the windows tinted. Anyone in MI care to chime in on where they got theirs done at? What kind of tints did you guys get done, dyed or metallic? Anyone with metallic based tint having any issues with the radio reception? A few places told me only a few AM stations would have an issue, so I'm looking for real world experiences here. So far it looks like either Car Tunes or Ziebart will be getting my business. Anyone in MI use either of them, either any good? Also, anyone here have a strip on their front winshield? If so do you have a pic of it? Thanks for the help.

I live in SEMI. Sterling Heights area to be exact.
Thanks for the suggestion. Though Livonia is a bit far. I'd have to sit there for the couple hours it'll take to get it done. What roughly do they charge for the 7 windows plus a front strip? Or what did you have done to yours?

I went to Auto One in Shelby. They did a nice job (though not perfect). $169 for the 5 rear windows. I think they have the same Solar Gard person go between all the Auto One locations.
The drive isn't the major issue, it's the sitting around factor that is my problem. If it takes them 3 hours or whatever to do it, i have nothing to do, nor do I have someone to come and get me, at least not at that distance.
I did call them earlier around 1pm to request a quote and havent heard a peep from them yet.
Thanks for the info. Any chance of some pics of their job? I'm really thinking of going the Ziebart way. They're close and have been around for a long time. So there shouldn't be any issues with warranty work, should I ever have to deal with that. Decisions, decisions.

Make an appointment with them. That way your car won't be the "Whenever we get to it" vehicle. I had my car in there w/ a couple other people and was out of there in 1.5hrs. I was very pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone in SEMI.
Well, I bit the bullet. I go in saturday at 10am. Getting all 7 done plus a strip on the front.

totally worth it!!!!!Nice, congrats! Get some pics after they do it. I'm half tempted to give them my next paycheck for some tints
