hello. I'm sure there is someone in this forum with a sub woofer in their trunk. i personally have 2 rockford fosgate amps, 1 -1,000 for my sub and 400x4 for my doors. i have a 12" JL W3 in a ported box and the back of my car (where the back speakers are) rattles a lot.

to those of you fine people that have a subwoofer in your car, do you have this same problem? if you do, did you do anything to fix it? if not is there anything that i can do to fix it? because i have a problem and when I'm listening to music all i hear is the rattling.

please help. do i need to dynomat? or can i just do something custom (maybe a little ghetto) so that it doesn't make any more noise?

You definately need to find the source of the rattle and isolate it. Dynomat is a good product, but depending on what the source is you may just need to tighten a bolt/nut or shove a hand towel (ghetto) into the crevis to get it to stop. At one time I had a rattle and found it was coming from my rear licsense plate. I fixed it by putting an old waxing pad between plate and car. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Good luck!

thank you very much. I've tried the towel and nothing solved yet. so maybe i just have to give myself a little more time with it and try and look a little deeper into the problem.

Many have this rattle issue with the Malibu rear deck on just the stock Stereo System / Speakers including myself. This has been discussed many times in other posts.

It is the plastic "Rear Deck" GM has put in these cars. I am very disappointed that GM did not insulate this area properly!

My two 12's rattle everything in my car when I want full bass. I would like to know also on successful fixes for some of there rattles. I am more worried about the rattles on the outside of the car than the inside since it draws a lot of attention I don't want. It sounds like most are from under the car on mine, my trunk doesn't rattle at all.

Once I get some money together I am going to deaden the trunk, but that isn't for a while. I am going to go with RAAMmat when I do it, hopefully help with the rattles.

i don't really care what it sounds like from the outside. i personally have spent a lot of money on all my stereo equipment so i know it sounds good. i just have never wanted a car because i know the trunk rattles. all i want is the back deck of my car to stop rattling, that and my dome lights. hahahaha

Stinger Roadkill is what I used. Works great.

I have the JL Audio W3 as well paired with the J2 500.1
The easiest fix for that rattle is to bring the seat down that is behind the subwoofer.
this will double the sound because it's not getting trapped in the trunk and in return you wont hear your rear deck rattle like a snake.
In return, the interior lights will rattle like a snake.
Especially the lights with the OnStar Mic.

FYI I don't have dynamat yet.

Hope that helped.

I used second skin damn pro on my entire trunk and both sides of the rear deck and still get a rattle. I believe it comes from the c pillar plastic meeting the back deck. If you have ever taken the back deck off you know exactly what Im talking about. Ill eventually get back there and try to isolate it.
