you shouldn't run the spare tire for extended periods of time, its made smaller so it fits in the trunk.

It's a compact spare, like almost every vehicle now uses if it even has one (most '10+ GM cars & crossovers don't, it's now an option, Malibu included) to safe space and weight and because you naturally wouldn't be running the spare for more than temporary use. Hence, why it's a spare;)

can someone tell me the spare tire size for a 2013 Malibu Eco with 16" rims? If someone bought the $100 option with the spare, any info would help. Mine came without a spare, and I'd like to get one from another vehicle in a junkyard. The $500 for a spare, jack, handle, etc. is crazy. The new Malibu has a bolt pattern of 120mm, while the earlier Malibu's (like my previous 2009) had a 110mm bolt pattern. I can easily get a jack, I'd just like to get the spare tire.

Thanks
