like the title says i am wondering if i will need a spring compressor to change out my strut bearing ? i have access to one so that is not an issue i just like to know what im getting into before i start a job

Save yourself some grief and use the spring compressor. You can put it on finger tight working behind the tire while still on the ground. Jack it up and it will hold so you do your work. When finished, put the car back down and take 'em off. I really wouldn't try to do it without.
