i just bought Chevy Malibu (year 2010) 2.4 LT and the car does not have radio/stereo system. There is installed rear view/parking camera so i suppose the previous owner had strereo system with screen. any recomendations what type of system i can buy/install?
My go to is the Sony XAV-AX5000. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support, capacitive touch screen, and a matte grey look that pairs nicely with an ebony interior and the grey buttons (I've got some pictures of it installed on my profile).
@Kmcat Yes sir, that's a 7" display. Got the trim from Crutchfield in the LS / LT silver. They don't offer the LTZ silver, but you can get the matching paint through PaintScratch; color name is Graphite Silver Metallic. It's dead on with the factory paint.
2008 cobalt has the same stereo mounting trim hardware. I had a cobalt with a stock double din, and installed a single sin unit, with a nice little storage pocket. Switched right over to my 09 malibu.
Part numbers for the wiring harness and trim pieces are the same on the 08 cobalt and the 09 malibu.
Not particularly useful info, but nice trivia
Did you get your aftermarket stereo installed?
I've noticed that gm's head units make the stock speakers sound better than an aftermarket stereo does
