Question for the mechanically inclined:

I have a 2010 Malibu LT and I was looking at the LTZ gauge cluster (that has the blue glow in it).

How hard would it be to switch? gmpartsdirect has in the "Instrument Panel" (and also in the Electrical: Instrument Panel) section(s) a part that is described as the LTZ instrument panel. Would this be all I would need or would I need all the little light bulbs as well?

Essentially, how hard would it be and what parts would I need to change my LT gauge cluster with an LTZ gauge cluster?

interesting, never knew there was a difference! im curious to see this and if it's possible. only thing i can imagine would be difficult would be to make sure the odometer stays consistent.

Double check with SilverLTZ, but the glowing LTZ gauges were available on 2008 and 2009 models only, not 2010 up. I'll bet it's only an LED or two that was eliminated, saving all of a buck or two.

I'm pretty sure it was available on the '10 models (90% sure, not completely).

I saw on gmpartsdirect that under the "Instrument Panel" (in two different sections) there is an "LTZ" option. There's the "LS, LT" one, then below it and slightly more expensive is the "LTZ" one. However, there's no illustration, so it doesn't show what that actually is!

If it's essentially that gauge cluster thing and say 4 bulbs (tach, speed, temp, fuel), then I'm likely going to do that because that would be cheap. However, if it's something like that gauge cluster, the bulbs, and all the other bulbs (like if they're connected to the cluster or something... I dunno), then I likely won't. Basically, if it's mostly simple, I'll do it, if it's not, I likely won't haha.

I just figured I'd ask the mechanically inclined first :)

If you get one it should be a direct replacement - plug for plug.
