Hard to get the full effect due to me taking pictures on a cloudy day and in the detail shop! Also i took them with my cell phone. But it is a 15% all around on the windows, 50% on the windshield, and light vinyl tint on the headlights. I have used spray on my other cars and decided to use vinyl on this one and i like the vinyl better! Let me know if anyone has any questions etc.
**Also added the chrome handles...they are the covers not the actual handles..got them for 29.95 + 6.95 shipping, compared to 150$ total for the actual handles. And the covers look exactly the same for 1/5 of the price!

Go to http://www.rvinyl.com/headlighttint.htm i did the very lightest tint, i hate the dark blacked out ones. Let me know if anyone else has any other questions. You can also call the guy i got it done from to find out exact info. His name is jake at 509.453.4293. This is his website - http://www.jakescustomauto.com/ This stuff is also remove able if you ever need to remove for resale etc.

ohh and 60 for the heads is kind of expensive. I paid 40 for the heads, 40 for the tails, and 20 for the 2 side markers and front and back Chevy emblems. All done with dark black vinyl

It is in the shop getting a full detail right now and should be done around three and they i can take some pictures of the tails for you. It looks sweet! I would personally call everyone in your area and just ask them if they do it, and if they dont ask them if you buy the material if they can put it on for you. Glad you like them. They honestly change the complete look of the car but i wouldnt do them unless you have tinted windows as well because it would look weird with clear windows and tinted lights. lol.

How are they sticking for you? Are the corners peeling up or anything?

Honestly, i would not do it yourself. But the best way to cut it is with a razor blade. But a 5% tint would black out the taillights, mine is very light, plus its not regular window film tint, its vinyl tint. Its thicker and protects the plastic from rock chips etc. I would honestly just have your window tint people put it on.

I'm sorry, I did not clearify. I was going to buy 5% tint for my chevy emblems and cut those out myself. MalibuOn22s said he is using tint on his emblems correct?

I got it done straight from the tint shop. So, he had a whole roll of it and just cut them out by hand. Its personal preference on how dark you want to go and which shade of tint. But from looking at that website it looks like they are precut to match malibu which is even better cause they will be exact match. But i looked on that website and i would go with the Light smoke cause clear lite, i think that is just clear? You should call them and tell them what you are going for and just ask them if they also can make you the side markers. You seem to be going back and forth on a couple of ideas, if i was you, i would write down everything and price everything out then, i would pick and choose what is best for you and then go from there and get it all done. I work 7 days a week, 85 hours a week. So, i understand where u say you have no time but, if its something you want done, you gotta make it a priority! The longer you wait the less time you will have to ride in style

You are very right sir there are a lot of things I want to do! Haha but right now I am focusing on the funds/time/place to get my head tail and side marker lights tinted.

I will be getting my windows tinted 22% on Friday if they can schedule me in for an appointment.

The chevy emblems will be done with 5% tint after I return the paint lol, probably after I get the bumper fixed next from the AAA incident.

Running into a problem with the heads and tail lights though like I said before. Can't find anyone (reputable enough) that will do it!!! Ziebart isn't a gaurentee either, they just said they would 'look' at it. He said his guy does a lot of random stuff like that though.

Alright since 20% is illegal in Indiana here is my question. How would you go about persuading a good shop, not some 2nd rate shop, to tint my windows to 20%? (22%)

My dad called this place and they said they would do 22% if he paid cash and that made me happy. That was about a week ago. Today I called them, setup the appointment and my dad said not to talk about numbers or the % of tint because, its illegal and he already talked to a lady and got a quote and she said they will do 22%.

When I was talking to the guy I said I would let him know about the tent when I drop it off Friday morning and he said that's fine there just might be some legality issues.

Which brings me back to my first question. How would you go about getting them to do it? And remember he already talked to the girl and she said they would do it but obviously it isn't a guarantee since it is illegal.

The place I brought my previous car to be tinted said that they would tint darker than the legal limit but they made the customer sign a waiver of some sort basically washing their hands of any legal action you may take against them. You could offer to do something similar.
