hey guys,
im looking to put some tint on my 08 malibu and i am just wondering what u guys paid for your tint so i can try and get a fair price... im planning on doing 20% on side 4 and rear window with a strip acrosee the top of the front.

place i went to came out to about 260 for tint with lifetime warranty ... they said they charge an extra 20 bucks for tint that is illegal in that state. i am also thinking about trying 5% or 15% on the back 3 and 20 on the front two but im not sure exactly wat i wanna do
im just wondering about what u guys think.

I live in MA and paid $215 for 35% (the legal limit in MA) all around and a 3 year warranty I believe it was. In MA a lot of inspection places won't pass your car if you have more than the legal limit so even though I would have loved to go much darker I didn't want to deal with the hassle come inspection time. They also charged an extra $25 for the brow brnging the total from $190 to $215. I looked around and this place was about average in price compared to the others I looked at. Hope this helps!

I paid about $250 for 35% (legal tint in TN). I tinted all but my windshield. It came with a 3 year warranty. You should be looking at anywhere from $200 to $300 max to tint your windows if they are decent. Also, if they do NOT include at least a 3 year warranty stay away.

For my old Altima, I was charged $200 for 35% all around. The guy did a great job and gave a lifetime warranty!

He said he usually charged $250 but since it was in the middle of the winter he only charged me $200.

I paid $160 for all my windows including the windshield strip with solar guard tint. They also used a CAD machine to precut the tint, and fit it nicely to the windows with almost no gap at the top of the windows. 20% all around, but it didn't matter what percent I chose. The highest I have paid is $200 for my Bonneville at Zeibart and they did anawesome job also.

In December 2008 I paid $125 for 35% fronts and 20% rears and back. (Legal limits in Kentucky.) Product was Llumar with lifetime warranty on parts and labor.

In November 2010 I paid $135 for 20% on all windows. Same product at same place.

Plus 6% tax on above.

I know we are taking about prices, but what about other State Laws when Traveling? Can another State give you a fine for being to dark/having different laws on tint that you are traveling through?

I imagine that as long as the tint matches the limit of the state on your license plate, you'd be fine.

No they cannot. If you live in a different state and they see that with your license and other info they cannot give you a ticket legally. This was discussed in my legal environment class last week. Our professor who use to be a lawyer said they cannot legally give you a ticket for the tint. Now if you reside in that state for 31 days or more they can is my understanding, but I could be wrong about that part.

In Texas it's 35% front and as dark as you want for the rears and back doors.
