Later on this summer, I'm hoping to build a shelf of some sort to store my winter tires. This should make some room in the garage a bit. So my questions.

1. Anyone have any pics on how they store their tires for inspiration?

2. Is it better to lay them flat or keep them standing on the shelf?

Tire Rack makes some nice racks that stand them up and keep them up on the wall off the floor. I have seen a few covers that will protect the tires from dust and such while they are stacked on the floor if you go that route. If I do end up with winter tires (not likely now since I bought a 4wd truck for the snow) I would go with the wall rack since my floor space is already at a premium.
