I have a 2010 LT2 with the Ultralux seats. Is there anything you can apply to protect the suede part of the seats to keep them like new and not wear? I put a leather conditioner on the leather inserts. Contrary to what someone posted a couple of months ago, according to the brochure, the suede is real suede - the brochure calls it shear suede. And the leather inserts are real leather. Someone said that both these materials were fake. According to the brochure, they're real. If it wasn't real, the brochure would call it simulated suede / leatherette.

I had to go look at my Ultralux seats because this has been a question for me as well. I tried to see if I could get a look at the backside of both the suede and non-suede materials. All I can get on the back of the suede is that it has foam attached to it, so there's a small chance that it could be leather. I discovered a small slice or tear on the passenger's seat in the non-suede material. Rolling the edge of the damaged material over shows fabric, indicating that it is vinyl and not leather. If it was leather it wouldn't have fabric on the backside. I haven't seen any authoritative information to convince me that the suede is or isn't leather, but if I had to guess I'd say it's not.

The LT2 seats are NOT real leather or real suede....

Even luxury cars have faux suede as real suede wears very bad. The "leather" is leatherette as well. Only the LTZ has actual leather, and even it has some leatherette in places. I have a friend with a hot rod shop that uses the same leatherette.
