2004 Maxx

I went out to the car today and the rear side window was down. I could pull the window back up, but could not use the switch, so I took the door panel off, and found that it looks like the cable on the motor assembly is broken, I Worked on this for 1.5 hrs, and cannot get the motor assembly OR the window out. how do I do this?? It looks like there is a "PIN" or something holding the window to the assembly, but I can't get that out either.

Please help

Thanks

I wish I knew how to help you. I replaced the entire power window assembly, but I can tell you that once the door panel was off it took two torx bolts to seperate the window from the track and then it was a total of 7 torx bolts to remove the track and motor assembly. It was actually harder to figure out how to unclip the wiring harness the first time.

This is how they have been on the newer G.M. model cars. I have done 30 or more but I have not done a BU yet.

Get a service manual for your car, it will give you detailed instructions on replacing window regulator, some of them are riveted in the doors rather than bolted in. The glass will be held on the track by a couple of bolts. There's not much room and the openings on the inside of the doors under the panels are small, so it takes a little bit to remove the regulator, the glass has to be carefully removed through the track if you have to take it out, but you shouldn't need to in order to replace the regulator.h
