If I press my 2008 malibu's 'unlock doors' remote two times all the doors unlock, except the rear door behind the driver.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or do I just need to take the car in for service?

The read door behind the driver did use to unlock...and it seems like the other day it did work for a day or so.

Check the child saftey lock?
All the doors should unlock.

Sounds like it needs servicing if just that one is not working.. Verify that you can lock/unlock manually and via power door locks inside the car to rule out possiblities

I had the same thing happen. When I had the oil changed I asked the dealer to reprogram the key fobs and that fixed it. Make sure you take both fobs (if you have two). The dealer said they needed to reprogram both at the same time.

My 06 Malibu Manual states under DIC Vehicle Personalization:
AUTO UNLK (unlock) The automatic door unlocking option, which allows the vehicle to automatically unlock certain doors can be enabled or disabled.

same thing happened to my 2008 malibu. The dealer had to replace the lock mechanism in the door.

Have them take a look at the actuator on that particular door. Had to have the passenger's front actuator replaced due to a lock not working. Dealer fixed it and all is well.

Have it checked immediately, dude, lest you lock yourself in unexpectedly. Better be safe than sorry.
