It has snowed or rained almost everyday I have owned my car (since Jan 29th 2011), and I just had to wash it just now, in the snow! I must be crazy. I'm over 50 yrs old and can't stand driving a dirty car. My neighbor said something about being committed, or maybe that I should be!

LOL, That’s funny! Never did that one yet but I will run to the car wash more than I should at times! I can get a little over board on how clean or how many times I clean my cars! My wife thinks I am a Clean Freak/Psycho towards my car/truck and have told some that they could eat off the floor in my car, telling them that’s how bad I am! Now if we talk about the House, she is the Clean freak! lol

The wife bought me the really warm coat with a hood, and I was nice and toasty, except for my hands! The cold front is coming in, and I hope the streets will be dry in the morning. I wont drive it tonight, and hope for the best in the morning.

Don't feel bad, I have owned my car for a year now and I still have to wash it every week no matter what the weather will be. I was just outside with a spray cleaner taking bird poop off my car from earlier today. At least I had just washed my car because of the massive snow storm that came through. Age doesn't matter for keeping a car clean and looking good.

It's good to know that there are others like me!:p

I have never washed my car in the snow but I have used the coin operated ones to spray my car down in the winters. I use a pair of waterproof hunting gloves to keep my hands warm when I dry the car with the drying towel. It seems to work as my hands stay dry and warm. :)

i wanna see some pictures of the stangs...
Here you go. My "freak" car is my 2001 Mustang Bullitt (limited production, #4204 of 5582 built, only in 2001), that I bought new in 2001. It only has 18K miles on it, and has never been in rain or snow. The gold car (only 5171 produced in this color in March 2000) is my driving out of town car, sunshine car, and if the weather is iffy. It has 90k miles, and is in really nice shape also. I purchased this car from the original owner and friend about 4 years ago. I have alway been a Mustang nut, but it always seems as though I drive GM product as a family car goes.

Bullitt, I admire your care for your car, but I haven't done anything that wacky since I worked as a lot boy at a used car lot in high school!

There's something about washing a car with your right hand while holding a hose with running water on the same spot with your left hand (to break up the ice that was forming almost as fast as the water hit the car).

I'd really like to forget those times....

Bullitt - consider the idea of full service car washes. They're great inventions. They have lousy coffee, but it's easy on the hypothermia!

I thought of that, but the streets were wet and salty, so the car would have been dirty again by the time I got back home! It's now about 8 degrees outside, and I'm the ONLY one with a clean car because all the car washers are closed due to the temp!;):D:p

By the way, your info shows you have a V-8 malibu? That's pretty rare!

Bullitt, trust me you are not alone. I have been obsessed with keeping my cars clean and spotless ever since I purchased my first car. In fact my Malibu purchase was to keep from having to drive my Jeep in the rain and snow. It's a '99 Cherokee that has just over 93,000 miles and like your Mustang it's in great shape. Like your Bullitt I also have a garage queen, mine is a '86 Daytona Turbo Z with 7300 miles and like your Bullitt has never been driven in the rain or snow.

I take a great deal of pride in taking my everyday cars including the Jeep to area car shows during the summer it's icing on the cake when I bring home an award. My brother is also a fellow nut, He has a '86 Shelby Charger garage queen and a Shelby Mustang GT. We are both well into our 50's and insist on driving clean cars. Also like you my Malibu is white.

I do have one problem, I don't want to drive the Malibu in the snow or rain either. I have to move somewhere dryer.

Hey, I see you are also from Cincinnati. Do you go up to the Milford cruise in on Friday nights? I'm up there every Friday (April - Oct) in one of my Mustangs. Maybe we should set up a Malibu area one night!:D I would love to see your "freak" cars as well !

I am from the Groesbeck area of the Nati. I have not been to the Friday Milford cruise in but, I have been to the Sunday Quaker Steak cruises before. I do not do as many shows and cruises as I used to but, I am sure I could talk my brother into running out there a few time this summer. Where exactly do they hold the Friday cruises? I posted some pics in the Other Rides forum last night if you are interested.

Here's one of my Daytona and my brothers Shelby.

I grew up in Groesbeck! I lived there from the time is was 4 till I moved when I was 30 yrs old.

The cruise in is in the Milford Mulberry Square Krogers on rt28. In the same parking lot is Wendy's, Steak & Shake, Penn Station, and Sears Hardware.

Sweet looking Daytona and Shelby Mustang! Hope to see you at Milford sometime.
