I use the Meguires Proffesional #26. On both my Majesty and Elantra. Sometimes I use the Meguires Cleaner/Wax in between. Especially on the Majesty. Removes most of the Bugs. Even on the windshield. Also on my Helmet. My father was surprised when he saw me doing it. Told him "How else does it stay new looking?"
Decided to splurge and try the Meguires Gold Class liquid. I've used it a couple times on my Majesty. Doesn't seem to shine any better than with Proffesional #26. Smells different. But is Easy to put on and remove. Haven't tried it on my Elantra yet.
As far as a wax I don't know. Never used one.
I've been using Nu-Finish on all my cars and until you use it you won't understand how good it is. It's by far the best out there. I'd give it a try. They say you should put a wax on after a polish but with this there's no need to. Just make sure you DONT get it on any black trim or plastic
I think the choice of product(s) is personal and based on personal opinion. My preference is for all Meguair's products. I use the Gold Carnuba spring through fall and the synthetic in winter. Between switching over I always strip, deep clean, seal, wax, wax and top coat. She's waxed once a month. Between waxes I use the Quick Detailer.
I have used other products, Mothers, Zymol, Turtle Wax and a few others over the years, but, I always go back to Meguiar's.
Since my last post in here I have switched to using Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant topped with Black Fire Midnight Sun Caranuba Wax.
The Ultimate Wax was and still is great but it would never haze over right for me and was sometimes tough to get it all off without smearing. The Blackfire Sealant hazes perfectly and comes off so easy it's crazy. The Midnight Sun wax goes on like butter and you wipe it off immediately so it's not a big deal to top off the sealant with it.
Here are a few pics I snapped after polishing with Meguiars M205 and my Griots D/A polisher then applying the BlackFire Sealant. I was waiting for it to cure so I hadn't applied the BlackFire Midnight Sun yet.
I'll stick with Zaino. Easy to apply, easy to remove - wax-a on, wax-a off. more coats it only gets better. Can get on plastic and it comes right off. Great for wheels. The Z-16 detailer spray is awesome. A little goes a long way once you get the applicator coated....it's pricey but I've always felt it was worth it. Smell is addictive too!!
If you have the time, and a garage, the full treatment they recommend is the way to go...Dawn dish washing liquid to strip everything off, clay bar, then go to town - you won't be disappointed. No one in this post was compensated for this endorsement.
I tried every wax on the planet upon beginning a detailing business 20 years ago.
Boat and airplane wax were even used, assuming the airplane had to be the best at $80/can to prevent ice build-up on wings.
In the end, polyurethane was and still is my choice. There is no build-up maintenance required, even after 30 coats over 10 years on my own car.
And it's also about the cheapest, NuFinish; the orange bottle once sold on TV.
