Windshield wipers...

I had my wipers on today and I them on the lowest setting. I swear when I was driving on the highway they were wiping more frequently on that setting then when I was driving in town. Am I losing my mind here or has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Wiper Blades Input

I replaced our OEM wipers after about 3 months. They were pitiful from day one. Went with Rain X latitude wipers and havent had a problem in almost 20k miles with them. Far better than the Bosch "wipers". lol
I just bought a set of the new style AC Delcos from Rock Auto, they were way less then the dealer, but still not cheap. About $60. But they work great. The new style ones are easier to spot due to the plastic covers for air deflection over part of them.
Hi everyone I was wondering what kind of wiper blades has everyone purchased for their car the oem ones or different ones?
I swapped the rubber blades. ;)
I thought the rubber ones were better for the car
Rubber oem blades?
Rubber oem blades?
Not necessarily, you could get the same if not better performance from an aftermarket brand. Just make sure that it is shaped to deflect wind.
Speaking of wipers, I was surprised to see that GM now uses all weather winter baldes on their new vehicles. They look much nicer than the old style, not to mention they reduce the ice build up on those who live in the snow benlt.
I purchased new blades from the dealer a few weeks ago and they were only $20.18 a piece and they lasted more than a year and I usually deem wiper blades junk after a few months of service. (I'm very picky about having good wiper blades)
OEM's are still working fine for me :D how often are you guys changing blades

I needed to replace mine after two years, but only 8000 miles. They started to separate at the tips. Dry rotted from lack of use, I'll bet.
Ours went bad around 14k miles. Started to dry rot on the ends and were leaving horrible streaks.
Wipers are probably the most neglected parts on the car, to prevent premature aging I always treat the blades after each wash with tire protectant just as I do the tires :D
I use Rain ex and from what I noticed the blades still look legit after 11000 miles.
Sun is the worst enemy of wiper blades. On my other cars I have been using Bosch Icons which look very similar to the blades used on the Malibu. Through some quick research on this forum I found the OEM blades are provided by Valeo. Since the ones on my Malibu seemed to be performing and lasting longer than the Icons I had on the other cars (the Icons were good but not as good as the Valeos and Bosch didn't make an Icon for the Malibu at the time) I decided to see if I could get Valeos. After a bunch of shopping I found the dealer had the cheapest price for them and had them in stock. They beat the price of the high volume auto parts stores by about $3 per blade. If I remember correctly I paid $20 each for them.

Since these blades seem to last about 18 months I replaced the whole thing Vs replacing the inserts like I used to do on the old Tricos.

I just bought Armor All Premium Silicone Wiper Blades, they were the only brand available that had the special clips for the Malibu, $26 ea.

Just put them on yesterday, will let you all know how they are. I will say, they were VERY easy to install.
