Theres these mysterious yellow spots appear on my car all the time.
For instance today I washed my car, went inside to get my phone *(was gone for about a minute) and theres a few spots. I have no idea what they are and how they could appear so quickly. any ideas?

Are birds stalking your clean car? Do you park under any trees that may have sap coming from them or does this happen anywhere?

Jason464,

I would have to agree with chevyguy8893 about the possibility of it being tree sap if you have trees around you. Do these spots only appear when you wash your car?

@chevyguy8893, your comment about the birds is funny! LOL

Have you driven on a road with freshly painted yellow lines? If they are in and around your wheel well, that's a possibility. And if you followed a truck closely, they could be everywhere.

It would appear so! haha My driveway has a tree near it but I was parked in the street clear of trees yesterday. Heres an interesting article I found on the subject honey bees may be the culprit.

Hmm...That would not have been my first thought that's for sure. So, I'll rephrase my question, are bees stalking your clean car?:D

Never heard or had this problem but very interesting! “Bee Poop” If you read some of the responses that some made at the bottom of page, they say it can actually leave a color stain spots even after cleaning it off your car!

Same person had suggested to use a light rubbing compound to remove the stains after cleaning it off and to keep your car waxed since it won’t stick to the car!

Wow you learn something new all the time!

Good luck!

Are the spots very small? (like a pinprick) Are they rust colored? If so it might be rail dust and time for a clay barring.

If they are large, sap I agree is the likley culprit. If this is the case it isnt that they reappear, it's that the sap never came off in the first place. When the car dries they become visible again. P21S TAW is the best for getting tar or sap safely off paint in my experience, and keep in mind you can't get it off without stripping the wax so i'd suggest doing the entire car in a light solution and then waxing fresh from scratch. Either way, since it's a project you may consider clay barring as well.

Good Luck! Keep us posted.
