For the big three you will replace the power wire going from the battery to your alternator. Then you will place a wire from the battery ground to the chassis ground. Then the third wire is the battery ground to the engine ground. For your hids really any hid kit is the same thing. I bought mine for $34 over a year ago and they still work the only thing I had to do was change one of the bulbs out. They basically all come from China .

For the big 3, you don't need to (and most cases shouldn't) replace the factory wiring. Just add to it, and have both runs. Unless you are running 1/0 or 2/0 gauge wire and/or planning an alternator upgrade.

As for battery, I'm going with an XS D3400 for my 05 bu (check those out). Will take some slight modification of the battery tray in my case, but well worth the extra juice IMO.
You might need to keep the side post battery style depending on the type and size of battery you get, but everything can still be done on side posts.

You don't have to take out the factory wire. It is better to keep it in actually. I have both 1/0 and factory wiring in my monte carlo. As far as the battery you could always run a second battery too. It can be used for the amp in the back of the car then. I have a second battery in the monte and I used to have one in the lumina I had and it is basically the same as the malibu with the alternator, so you would be good then.

Here is my retrofit using RX350 projectors with CBIs. Dont see that from many people on here! what you do see are blobs in front of the vehicle, which causes the eyes to look directly infront of the vehicle and not down the road where you want to be looking
