1. My 2004 Malibu seatbelt wont go off for about 45 seconds even if I plug it in. Can I fix that? The GM dealer said that is normal for an old malibu. Is that true?
2. I also have found that the antitheft system forces me to lock the door in order to open it without the alarm going off--is that normal?
I discovered this in one of the youtube discussions, but there is a WHOLE BUNCH of solutions, including Radio Shack capacitor bypass.
Has anyone ever seen or tried this:?
Dis-arm the alarm through the stereo system-
-Turn key to 'on' position
-Turn off stereo
_Press 'tune/display' button and hold for ten seconds (until 'settings' shows)
-Press 'seek' button until alarm shows
-Press button '1' (or '2') to turn alarm on/off
-Then press 'tune/display' button
-Then press 'seek' button until you reach exit
-Then press 'tune/display' button
-Let vehicle sit for ten minutes, then it will start.
