Having an issue with my left turn signal on my 2009 Malibu. The blinker is fast and doesn’t blink on the rear left side but the light is on and responsive to everything else. I tried turning the emergency lights and rear left side still doesn’t flicker. Right side is responsive and working and front left is also working. The lights all work (have some extra and was switching the left and right ones for the ones I didn’t have to see if the problem moved to the other side, it didn’t). It’s blinking fast, and first instinct was looking for a burnt out bulb. Second item was looking for the fuses but all seemed to come back good. Haven’t checked the relays in the fuse box but guessing this is where my issues is. Any advice or pointers?

Turn on the hazards so all 4 flash, then take a look at the problem bulb. If it's flashing dimly compared to the right side, then it could be the bulb, the socket, the plug or wiring to the light.

Since you swapped bulbs L to R and the issue is still on the L, then it's not the bulb.

A fast blink, aka "hyperflash" usually indicates a bulb is burned out or missing. With a bulb in place, it then indicates an overload. Look for chafed or damaged wires, possibly from a failed attempt to either modify the lights, or a sub-par attempt to remove mods.

Look for chafed wires, rodent damage.

Check the socket itself.

Most front turn / running and rear brake / running lights have 2 filaments in them. Running dimmer and brighter stop / turn ones. One filament can have a good connection but not the other. Same applies to installation or bulb itself.
