Does anyone know if the manual rear window shade can be ordered by the dealer after vehicle delivery or is it factory only installed option? Below is the option:

PDD Rear Power Package w/110-Volt Outlet and Manual Rear Window Shade

If factory only. are there any after market shades that would be the equivalent?

TIA

The rear shade would require the shade, the attachments and mechanisms inside and underneath the rear shelf, and the different tab hooks on the rear of the headliner, at least. Cars without have a long "filler" strip in the slot where the shade would otherwise come out, if you look, but that's not telling what or what isn't underneath.

For the power plug, as has been typical with modern GM vehicles as of late, the wiring harnesses and such likely are specific to with or without and adding it if you get the actual rear of the console pieces may not be a simple plug in. Or, perhaps it might. One would have to dig in and find out.

Digging up an old post, but I had the rear power package, I believe... It has the three pronged plug in the center console for the back seat. However, there is now rear shade? Just a piece of filler plastic to where it should have been. I'm the second owner. First was rental.

Rental units are usually considered a fleet model and end up with different options than standard consumer models. My last '11 LTZ (lost in flood) and my current '11 LTZ both have the rear shade. My '09 2LT had no shade. I don't use it and don't recall if my '09 had a filler/cover or if it was a one-piece rear cover.
