Hello! When you say "burn out" I'm assuming you mean dead and wont take a charge anymore.
If you have a multimeter, and the car will start currently, can you tell me what the voltage of the battery is with and without the car running?

If no multimeter. can you turn the headlights on and point them at a building so you can see, then start the car then turn it off. Let me know if the headlights get dimmer when ignition is off.

It sounds like when the fuse box is replaced, the wire from alternator to post on fuse box wasn't connected right and therefore the alternator is not charging the car. I can take a look at my '09 in a bit and send you a vid of what the connections are supposed to look like!

But I don't have a multimeter unfortunately,but the car won't start at all,it's completely out.i even replaced the old battery with a brand new one and it only lasted about a day when it went out..I'll go ahead and check the connection from the alternator to post on fuse box and see if anything...if I can get a that video I would really appreciate man .at the moment nothing turns on ,no interior lights,headlights,stereo, nothing at all.

 

Good morning. I found the schematic for the charging system on the '09 Malibu. It looks like the cable coming off the alternator goes to the starter motor and then goes to the battery. So as long as the BCM is commanding the alternator on it should be charging the battery.

Here is a picture of My 09 fuse box take a look and make sure that all the fuses you see there are installed and not blown. There may be one missing from a spot on the new fuse box.

Specifically take a look at fuse 54 and fuse 20 as the schematic seems to imply that they have something to do with the charging system.

also make sure that this current clamp is around the negative lead of the battery.

Also why did you change the fuse box in the first place. It can be hard to find the exact correct one for the car as there are a few different ones and the fuse box documentation isn't that good.

 

Hey I'm having this same issue and I haven't found the 54 fuse. I I see the 5. The Lil brown one. But it's not blown.. Don know if it's a wire between the alertnator and post or what

 

Hi did you ever find a fix to your problem I’ve replaced two batteries that have gone dead in less than two weeks.i changed the alternator and battery wires but the battery light is still on and the alternator is not charging the battery.i just ordered the battery current sensor so im going to to see if that fixes it.
