So my Malibu 2015 LT w/ the 2.5 has never had it's coolant changed. It has 61,800 miles on it. I'm guessing if the car was built in fall of 2014 that would make the coolant 10 years old this fall.
It's the original dex-cool and I think I'm just going to keep it until a water pump or radiator fails.
I know when dex-cool first was available in 1996 it caused corrosion to the plastic intake manifolds on some GM engines, but I think those problems have been solved by the manufacturer.
I mean it's a great car and I really like it, but I think I'm going to try my luck with not changing the coolant, there's not that many miles on it.
